Stainless Steel Chimney Caps

We consider the chimney cap to be essential for every chimney and carry the excellent Gelco brand of single and multi-flue stainless steel tops. These are warranted for life, and being stainless steel, will not rust and cause brown rust staining on your chimney.

All Chimneys Need A Cover To:

ELIMINATE MOISTURE DAMAGE FROM THE RAIN

Moisture in the chimney erodes the mortar joints and can cause damper and firebox rusting, leading to expensive repairs.
KEEP OUT INVADING BIRDS AND ANIMALS

Nesting birds, squirrels, raccoons, and other critter-scan block the chimney and cause smoke damage or
even carbon monoxide poisoning.  If you forget to close your damper they can enter your house and wreck havoc or, if the damper is closed, they will die and create an odor problem since most birds and animals accidentally fall down the chimney and can not get back out.

PROTECT AGAINST EMBERS AND SPARKS

The cap's 18-gauge mesh reduces the risk of fire from sparks escaping from your chimney

GUARD AGAINST FLUE BLOCKAGE

Falling leaves and debris can create a blockage and possibly carbon monoxide and smoke entering the house.

Is there a hole in your roof?

An open chimney is an entry way into your house allowing birds, squirrels, or raccoons to enter, especially if you forget to close your damper.

A nest could clog the heater or stove chimney causing smoke and carbon monoxide within your house.

Vacu-stack Chimney Cap

Wind related back puffing problems can often be cured with the Vacu-Stack chimney cap pictured here to the left.  As wind hits the Vacu-stack, it actually increases the draft in proportion to the speed of the wind.  It will not, however, cure an otherwise poorly drawing or downdrafting flue.

Nesting animals belong outside the chimney, not in it.

Probably a raccoon or squirrel built this nest. You definitely do not want these dirty and possibly diseased critters in your chimney.
